Paris 2024 | Olympic Club

Putting hydrogen on the agenda at the highest level

At the Olympic Club within TeamNL House, Missie H2 transformed hydrogen from a complex topic into something decision-makers could understand, experience and discuss.

120 decision-makers aligned during the Olympic Games - resulting in the Hydrogen Action Declaration.

Not just informing, but influencing knowledge, perception and behaviour.
Beewan designed and realised an integrated environment where hospitality, content and interaction worked together as one system - enabling meaningful conversations between industry leaders, policymakers and partners.

Project details

The Olympic Club formed the strategic hospitality and relationship environment of TeamNL during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

A place where sport, business, government and international partnerships converged at the highest level.

Within this setting, Mission H2 created a platform where more than 120 decision-makers from industry and politics came together around one shared challenge: the future of hydrogen.

Through immersive storytelling and spatial experience, visitors did not simply receive information about the hydrogen transition, they moved through it physically.

The principles behind elite sport, discipline, endurance, teamwork and progression, became the narrative framework through which the hydrogen transition was experienced.

The journey of sport became interwoven with the journey of hydrogen:
movement, transition and collective progress.

Not presented as a technical ambition,
but experienced as a national movement.

The challenge was not legitimacy.

Missions H2 already represented a coalition of industry leaders, government and innovation partners shaping the future of hydrogen in the Netherlands.

The challenge was different:
how do you transform a complex transition into something people can genuinely understand, experience and remember?
Within the Olympic Club, the audience ranged from ministers, CEOs and policymakers to athletes, international guests and VIP visitors from around the world.

Different backgrounds.
Different levels of knowledge.
Different expectations.

Yet the message needed to remain clear, human and emotionally engaging throughout.

At the same time, the experience needed to integrate naturally into the hospitality rhythm of TeamNL House, balancing strategic content, public engagement and premium guest experience without disrupting the atmosphere of the Olympic Club.
How do you translate infrastructure, energy systems and long-term transition into an experience people can move through and intuitively understand?

And how do you create a shared narrative that connects elite sport, innovation and the future of energy within one of the most visible hospitality environments of the Olympic Games?

Instead of communicating hydrogen through information alone, Mission H2 used the emotional and symbolic power of elite sport to make the energy transition human, collective and tangible.

The Olympic context created a unique opportunity:
not to explain hydrogen as infrastructure or policy, but to position it as a national movement built around progress, teamwork and long-term ambition.

Rather than creating a standalone activation, the strategy focused on embedding the hydrogen narrative naturally within the rhythm, hospitality and relational dynamics of the Olympic Club.

By combining storytelling, spatial design and high-level dialogue, Mission H2 transformed a complex transition into a shared platform for industry leaders, policymakers, partners and international guests.

Strategy, storytelling and spatial experience operated as one integrated Olympic environment.

Integration
Interactive installations were embedded naturally within the hospitality environment, allowing guests to engage with the hydrogen transition within the rhythm of conversation, dining and informal meetings.

Engagement
Visitors explored hydrogen through a series of interactive experiences focused on production, storage, transport and innovation across the Dutch hydrogen ecosystem.

Complex infrastructure and energy systems became tangible, understandable and open for discussion.

Dialogue
The environment was designed to stimulate conversation between industry leaders, policymakers, partners and guests, connecting public engagement with strategic dialogue.
