Designing a skybox that performs beyond matchday
For a collective of companies at NEC Nijmegen, Beewan Sports designed and realised a hospitality environment that goes beyond matchday.
The ambition was not simply to create a premium skybox, but to develop a space that would remain relevant throughout the week - supporting meetings, networking, private dining and business events.
The result is a hospitality environment that combines contemporary design with subtle references to the history of the Goffert Stadium, creating a space that performs both during and beyond football.

CONTEXT
Many stadium hospitality spaces are designed around a single moment: matchday.
As a result, they often remain underutilised during the rest of the week, despite occupying some of the most unique real estate within the stadium.
For the collective behind Skybox 3, the ambition was different.
The space needed to function not only as a place to watch football, but as a desirable destination for meetings, events and business gatherings throughout the year.
THE MOVE
The design was built around interaction rather than observation.
A central bar forms the social heart of the space, encouraging guests to connect with each other rather than focus solely on the pitch.
In a deliberate departure from traditional skybox layouts, the bar is positioned with its back towards the field, shifting attention from viewing to meeting.
The bar continues seamlessly onto the balcony, connecting inside and outside into one continuous hospitality experience and creating natural flow throughout the space.
Contemporary materials and refined detailing are balanced with subtle references to the history of the Goffert Stadium. Even the iconic white bar, retained from earlier generations of the skybox, remains as a tribute to the space’s legacy.
Modern in appearance.
Rooted in history.
THE RESULT
Today, Skybox 3 functions as more than a matchday hospitality space.
The environment regularly hosts business meetings, networking events, private dinners, presentations and small-scale gatherings throughout the year.
Its flexibility and distinctive character have made it a sought-after venue, sometimes accommodating multiple bookings on a single day.
What was designed as a skybox has evolved into a year-round hospitality platform.
The project demonstrates how thoughtful hospitality design can unlock new value from existing stadium real estate.
Not just on matchday.
But 365 days a year.
